Throughout the years, the community thrived and grew. More businesses opened their doors. By 1998, approximately 4000 individuals called the area home. The demographic of the area is six blocks. It is a major tourist attraction to thousands of visitors every year.

Recently, the opening of a shopping mall and convention center has given Chinatown an increase in traffic. The area not only has some of the finest restaurants there is also a large Asian sampling of Malaysian, Burmese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine.
